Congratulations to IMD Legal Translation and Interpreting Ltd on becoming ISO 9001 and ISO 17100 certified with ATC Certification! IMD Legal Translation and Interpreting Ltd specialise in the provision of legal translation and interpreting services, focusing solely on the legal sector and across all legal practice areas.
We asked the IMD Legal Translation and Interpreting Ltd General Manager, James Halstead, some questions about the project and how they found working with ATCC.
Why did you choose to become ISO Certified?
As a mark of commitment to a quality and professional service, a way of establishing minimum standards across the operation is easily understood by staff and clients.
As a marketable symbol of quality that may be recognised by clients and thereby an establisher of credibility.
How did you find the process with ATC Certification?
Excellent – the process was easy to follow, the ATC staff we engaged with were both super helpful and amazingly friendly as well as wonderfully knowledgeable.
Why did you choose ATC Certification?
Naturally we did a bit of shopping around and due diligence; in the end factors that weighed in on the final decision included price (of course), responsiveness and quality of communication, industry knowledge (as there were companies offering this certification without necessarily a background themselves in the language industry), and as an added bonus in ATC’s favour was that, as an LSP, we were already an ATC member and were pleased with other interactions we had had with ATC before.
How long did it take you to prepare for certification?
Six weeks to get our house in order for the initial assessment, and then a month between that and the second round. Happily we passed with flying colours! Massive thank you and hats off to both our operational team, and to ATC certification for being there for us if and when we may have had any queries or requests for direction. Having been operationally in business for just a few months at that point, it was a very proud moment for us.
Would you recommend becoming certified with ATC Certification to other companies in the language services industry?
If you are serious about delivering a quality service, absolutely. Not only does this ISO offer good guidance and best practice, striving to achieve such certification can really help ensure you’re approaching the language service sector, your clients, and your suppliers in the right way, even more so when paired with ISO9001 as well.
